Extra Curricular Activities

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

At Cebu International School, it is important that we not only deliver our academic program but we also cater for the emotional, social and physical needs of students in our care.

We therefore have a strong Clubs and Activities program that is run on a semester basis, from late August to early December, and from late January to mid May. For specific dates for the current school year, please refer to the CIS Events Calendar.

  1. Elementary Clubs and Activities run from 2.30pm to 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
  2. Middle High School Clubs and Activities run from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
  3. ISAC team practices are conducted twice per week, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm. Due to CIS staff
  4. meetings on Wednesdays, if the ISAC coach is a teacher, then the Wednesday ISAC coaching sessions run from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Practice games are scheduled for either Friday after school or Saturday mornings.

All CIS students are required to participate in at least one (1) Club/Activity per semester. This is part of their promotion requirements. Attendance is monitored and followed up and failure to attend three sessions in one semester will mean recommendation for exclusion from the Club/Activity.

If students are at school, they are required to attend the Club/Activity they have registered for. If there is an emergency, parents are requested to notify the Athletics & Activities Director that their son/daughter cannot attend the Club/Activity due to the emergency.

Students are expected that if they sign up for a Club/Activity, their responsibility is to ensure that they attend. If there is a problem with a Club/Activity, the student has a responsibility to speak with the Athletics and Activities Director.

The range of activities are numerous and listed are a few of them below:

  1. Swimming
  2. Soccer
  3. Wall climbing
  4. Basketball
  5. Volleyball
  6. Dance
  7. Golf
  8. Tennis
  9. Chamber Ensemble
  10. Drama Production
  11. Rock Band
  12. Various Art activities
  13. Chess
  14. Developing independent Study Skills
  15. Cooking
  16. Study Support

…and many more!

Due to the popularity of some activities, some students may not obtain their choices as we operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

There is no guarantee that CIS will accommodate Club/Activity requests after the deadline. Students are requested to take responsibility and work towards meeting the deadline of submission of forms.

Students enrolling at CIS, after the registration deadlines, are requested to complete the paperwork, however the selection of Clubs/Activities will be dependent on space available.
