WORKING AT CIS

We seek candidates for various teaching and non-teaching positions, and look forward to receiving applications from qualified candidates. In order to apply, please follow the application procedures outlined below.

Please follow all instructions carefully to ensure your application is considered.

Peruse our official Facebook page and website to get a good understanding of what type of school we are.

Submit all of the following documents with your name and the position you are applying for in the subject line, to our HR Office at hrd@cis.edu.ph:

  • A brief (1-2 page) cover letter outlining why you believe you are a good fit for the position you are applying for at CIS
  • Your CV/Résumé, complete with:
    • a recent passport-size photo
    • a list of your qualifications and educational experiences (schools, grade levels and courses taught with exact dates)
    • a list of 3 professional referees with whom you have worked with over the past 5 years (one of whom is your current or most recent direct supervisor), with their contact details (email address and telephone contact number) and their relationship to you
    • A digital copy of your passport bio-page
    • For Philippine-based applicants only: NBI Clearance

Please do not send copies of other documents at this stage (such as degrees, etc.). These will be requested by HR when required.

If you are applying for a speculative (non-advertised) position, please note your application will be kept on file for the rest of the school year, and we will contact you if you make the long list of a position that opens up. It is preferred that you to wait until a position opens up for which you are qualified.

CIS follows safe child protection recruiting practices. Please be advised we will require police clearance certificates (or the equivalent) from all successful candidates.

CIS follows ethical recruiting practices.

You will receive an acknowledgment email upon successful submission of your application with further information if you are selected for a long or short list.

Due to the numbers of applications we receive, it is not feasible to provide further updates after the acknowledgment email to non-selected candidates. If you have not been contacted after 2 weeks following your acknowledgment, please assume you have not made the initial long list.

We will remove positions from the site once it has been filled or we have stopped accepting applications.

Applications will be processed as they are received, and shortlisted candidates interviewed in person and/or via Skype. We intend to appoint ideal candidates to open positions as soon as they are established, so applicants are advised to submit applications as soon as possible to ensure consideration.

To view available positions, you may visit the Apply Now page and use the form available to submit your application.

Security Note:
Several reputable international schools have had their website cloned in the past, and candidates have been duped into sending large amounts of money. All candidates are urged to be diligent in investigating potential schools during the recruiting process and prior to signing a contract. Use extreme caution if you have been asked for money or private information.

CIS will never ask or require candidates to send money for application fees, interview fees, visas, plane tickets or other costs associated with recruitment or relocation to Cebu. We will not ask potential teachers for information related to bank accounts or other private financial information. If you have been asked by any international school to send money to cover such costs, you are likely the target of an elaborate scam.
