PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
The term “CIS-PTA”refers to the Cebu International School-Parent Teacher Association. It is a non-profit organization run by parent-volunteers, in association with the CIS leadership.
The main objectives of the CIS-PTA are as follows:
- To have an effective partnership, based on co-operation, between the parents and the school.
- To be an excellent forum for voicing the concerns of the parents, regarding their child’s education.
- To provide fun and family-friendly activities that enriches the learning environment in the school.
- To raise funds that enhances the school’s budget so that it can equip the students with better tools for learning.
There are many good reasons for parents to volunteer at school. It’s a great way to show your child that you take an interest in their education, and it sends a positive message that you consider school a worthwhile cause.
Both the school and you will benefit. By interacting with teachers, administrators, and other parents on a regular basis, you’ll gain a firsthand understanding of your child’s daily activities. You’ll also know the trends and fads of school life that can help you communicate with your children as they grow and change (all without” nagging” them for it).
There are many things you can do that don’t necessarily require a regular commitment. You can volunteer at your child’s school by joining school trips or assisting the teacher in other class activities.
Participate in our regular PTA Coffee Morning and share your viewpoint with others. Get involved in our events as a donor, an organizer or as a volunteer.
Another way you can help is by offering your skills. For example, your work experience may be useful to share with the CIS community at some point in the academic year.
Please contact the PTA at email@example.com if you would like to contribute in some way. We would really appreciate your support. The PTA also has a Facebook group that is open to all CIS parents, please join by clicking this link!
